Today, I’d like to announce that William ‘Bill’ Dennings III has joined Bitreserve to spearhead the company’s security and data protection infrastructure as our first Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). The personification of world-class information security practice and strategy, Bill brings over two decades of information security expertise, having previously held the position as Nike’s first ever CISO, and at Mastercard for 15 years as their CISO. At Mastercard, Bill was responsible for the safety of millions of peoples’ confidential information. Bill brings with him that same level of personal dedication and accountability in order to protect Bitreserve members’ information and deposits.
Having held the CISO role at the world’s second largest payment company, as well as one the world’s largest sportswear and apparel brands, Bill provides 360 degrees of visibility into today’s security threats. Bill’s leadership will be instrumental as we continue to drive, innovate and fortify world-leading ‘Anti-Money Laundering’ and ‘Know Your Customer’ programs designed to uphold the safety and security of our members information and deposits. By mitigating the risk upfront, we can facilitate a fresh and stress-free experience that’s fully transparent for both our members and our regulators, globally.
“I’m excited to join Bitreserve at a time when the company is establishing itself as a leading cloud money service,” said Dennings. “Information security extends well beyond IT and customer service in the global payments sector. It’s vital to the secure, instant, easy and free movement of money that Bitreserve offers our members.”
Bill is a pioneer in military and corporate information security management architecture with worldwide impact and scope. Regarded as an institution in the global business and finance community, Bill has impeccable foresight into the security challenges and opportunities facing people and industry in today’s web-, mobile- and cloud-based ecosystems. He is acutely in tune with the global portfolio of information security management and the importance of upholding a strong commitment to serving the underserved and unbanked— a principle we all share here at Bitreserve.
Prior to joining our team, Bill was deeply engaged in high-level data and cybersecurity discussions across the United States and abroad, regularly providing strategic counsel to the White House, Congress and the Attorney General. He will continue to lead many of these conversations from within Bitreserve — providing strategic guidance as an industry thought leader and trusted member of several information security boards.
Please join me in welcoming Bill to Bitreserve’s growing team. We’re thrilled.
